I had a great "postthought" and blogger lost it. I don't know if I feel inspired enough to re-write it. It's been since APRIL?! WOW. I must catch up...

PARADISE FOUND
Aloha! Hawaii Baby! I just returned from paradise...
Except blogger is STUPID and doesn't let me upload any pictures. If you want to see them email me and I will give you the link to view them. Maybe this is why the PC world sucks sometimes and makes MACs not as accessible. GRR...
Mahalo!

HA! I always knew...
Something tells me I picked the wrong career... Oh, well.
Your Dominant Intelligence is Spatial Intelligence |
You've got a good sense of space and how the world around you looks. You can close your eyes and "see" images. You have innate artistic talent. An eye for color and shapes, you're also a natural designer. Since you think in pictures, visual aids and demonstartions help you learn best. You would make a good navigator, sculptor, visual artist, inventor, architect, interior designer, or engineer. |

CALL ME CRAZY
Call me nuts...
I joined Bally's of all places! The grand meat market of them all and I joined. And, in the same day...I signed up to swim, bike and run a triathalon!
Call me bored...
Call me impulsive...
Call me crazy!
But first I must get over my fear of fishies and lakes where I can't see the bottom. Plus all that seaweed garbage?! ICK! Gimme some chlorine and green hair in place of all those fishies and seaweed. And lake water...I'd rather sip sludge.
Good thing the 600 yard swim is first and the 5K run is last. I'm sure I'll survive the swim, but the run?! It's been awhile!
Oh well...at least I have a partner in crime, someone who 'inspired me' to do this in the first place! Jen, thanks for getting me out of my lazy funk! Now, if only we can get our boys to do the same!

THINGS I WANT TO DO IN MY LIFETIME
Probably not as obtainable as I think, but hey, it's great to be a dreamer!
These are in no particular order...
1. learn how to sail
2. go to Italy
3. step foot on all 7 continents. (only 5 more to go, ha!)
4. learn how to SCUBA (and not be afraid of the fishies!)
5. "compete" in a triatholon (ha, doubtful...I'd have to learn to run!)
6. have kids
7. have a successful career
8. be waited on for a day
9. windsurf
10. retire
11. retire to Door County with my husband
12. go to Hawaii every year with my husband
13. be able to AFFORD to go to Hawaii every year!
14. go back to school? (still debatable)
15. go back to Colorado and go whitewater rafting again
16. take gourmet cooking lessons
17. Join a gym (that's not busting the budget
18. get back into crafting (scrapbooking, graphic design, etc.)
19. really create and host my own website (learn HTML code)
20. be able to take life less seriously (like I did when I was in college and prior...how niiave I was!)

Old Friends, New Friends...
and then there are blue friends...
do you ever wonder why we are drawn to the people we call our "friends?" and when those friends close to us seem to call upon us when they are feeling down, depressed and rightfully not themselves.
I received a phone call today from a very old friend. someone i've known since i was 8 years old. we used to swim together, back in the day. he's a great 'ole friend, goofy as hell but has a great heart. he's still someone who would drop everything and come rescue you if you were in trouble–regardless of whether you were here or in Timbuktu.
he's one of those people i would classify as a great friend. we've grown apart some since the good 'ole swimming days, but nonetheless, he's always been a great friend to me. he called. i answered. i'm proud to say that i helped him through a tough day. it's great to know even old friends...the kind that only call once in a great while...still rely on us "good 'ole friends."
it's great to be a good friend. and even better to be good to those friends who are truly great...

A Corner Office WITH a View?
So all that bitching in those previous posts must have attributed to something...
SHE LEFT! SHE FREAKIN' LEFT!
So now it's a corner office with a view. Literally. Really! All that hard work has finally paid off. In dollars, in office space, and most importantly in career advancement. Now let's hope I make the "40 under 40" list soon. :)
Regardless, it's a great start. A new beginning and a fresh start.
I can only attribute my work ethic to my athletic dicipline from years past. But more importantly I attribute these ethics, morals and values to my role models: my parents. They are truly the ones who taught me the value of hard work. Some day I will teach my own kids the same values my parents have instilled on me.
Maybe I really can go places. FINALLY someone noticed my efforts, talents and abilities. Hell, I always knew I had it in me. Early on I was ALWAYS the one who was constantly overshadowed by people faster than me in the pool, smarter than me in school, and "better" than me in the things I most enjoyed doing.
It's great to know that people really do have respect for those who are hard workers and who always strive to do the right thing...even though they may not be the fastest swimmer in the pool, the class valedictorian, (or the greatetst speller on Earth), or the "perfect" person for the job. But it's good to be recognized as competent and it's even better to have people (who aren't obligated to "support" you) FINALLY say "we're happy for you," and "this is going to be good for you, you're ready for this," and "you were good at your old job, but you'll be fantastic in this new position."
Oh, and the corner office has THREE windows. THREE! And an even better view of what the future holds...
